Seeking Volunteers with all DisAbilities

The RI Statewide Independent Living Council (RISILC) is currently welcoming applications from individuals who want to serve as members of the Council. RISILC is a non-profit organization and all council members are appointed by the Governor. RISILC accomplishes much of its work as a result of the efforts of Council members who serve on various committees. These committees work to provide RISILC staff and the Council with input, direction, and support to carrying out the Council's responsibilities related to the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL).

The focus of RISILC is to advocate for the enhancement and expansion of the Independent Living philosophy and services in Rhode Island. The Council's members must represent the geographic, ethnic, and disability diversity of Rhode Island. RISILC is seeking qualified individuals who have an understanding of Independent Living and can contribute to the Council's diversity.
